He flew into Normandy on D-Day afternoon aboard a WACO glider. It is recorded on 9th June that he was wounded by enermy action, this was probably much earlier that the 9th. Due to these wounds he didn't return to action August 1944 just in time for the next gliderborne adventure in Holland.
As you will see from the photo's there is a large volume of material dating pre war all the way through to the end of WW2 when he was on occupation duty in Germany.
The letter is written to his parents on VE day and describes the scenes that he has witnessed at a liberated concentration camp, being the end of the war the censors have left all the detail in the letter.
You just don't see airborne grouping with quantity of attributed material, This grouping is from my own personal collection.
